Centre  for Democratic Development(CDD), Ghana in partnership with Asutifi North District Assembly on Thursday 28, April held a passing out ceremony for 60 trainees in the Asutifi North District of Ahafo Region.

The project which was funded by the European Union had young people from three communities namely; Ntotroso, Kenyasi No. 1 and Kenyasi No. 2 receiving a 30-day training in Soap Making and Welding/Electronic fabrication.

Programs Officer for CDD, Nana Abroampah Mensah admonished trainees to “make use of the training for it to be beneficial to themselves and their communities”. 

He also reminded them of their responsibilities, “it is in your agreement that you all shall train at least three people each for free. It is necessary to increase the number of skilled youth in this district”.

 On his part, District Chief Executive, Hon. Anthony Mensah advised the trainees to “engage in good customer service. It is businesses you are going to engage in and every business requires being respectful to customers for growth”.

To help them set up as soon as possible, trainees in Welding and Electronic fabrication received working tools as well as an access to 2,500 Cedis grant as seed capital. Where as others in soap making on the other hand received access of 5,000 Cedis grant.

They were also rewarded with certificates by the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI).
